Dear Friend,
It has been a long battle in our fight to pass Senate Bill 1221, legislation to ban cruel hound hunting of bears and bobcats -- a barbaric practice that causes wildlife and dogs to suffer immensely. However, our journey is not over yet -- and we still urgently need your help this Saturday and Sunday in Los Angeles.
The bill passed the Senate last month, but was just one vote shy of passing an Assembly committee earlier this week. The bill will be reconsidered by the committee this Monday, July 2. This means we only have this weekend to target the committee members to secure that one crucial vote to keep this bill moving forward.
If we’re going to pass this bill, we need the help of animal advocates like you. In order to show the committee members how much their constituents support this bill, we have scheduled neighborhood canvassing and public outreach shifts in the Los Angeles area. We need as many volunteers as possible to help. Volunteer shifts will be two hours each -- but of course, you are welcome to volunteer for longer if you can!
Join us on the ground as we get out the word on Senate Bill 1221 -- and put an end to cruel hound hunting once and for all in California:
