Make a Call for Millions of Egg-Laying Hens

Dear Friend,

The U.S. Senate is now considering the Farm Bill, and may vote any day on an amendment to improve the treatment of more than 250 million egg-laying hens. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., has filed the amendment, No. 2252, with a bipartisan list of cosponsors -- and we urgently need your help to pass it. This Farm Bill amendment is identical to the Egg Products Inspection Act Amendments of 2012 (S. 3239/H.R. 3798), legislation that will lead to such major improvements in the treatment of hens like doubling the amount of space per bird and banning inhumane practices such as forced starvation molting.

Help us ensure the passage of this amendment to the Farm Bill. Please make a brief, polite phone call to your U.S. Senators (click here to find your U.S. Senators' names and phone numbers), and ask them to vote "YES" on the Feinstein amendment to protect egg-laying hens. Then, don't forget to send a follow-up message. Thank you for taking the time to be a voice for animals.
