Opportunity for Change -- Act Now

Dear Friend,

Here's a staggering number to consider: Tens of millions of sharks are killed each year to supply the trade for shark fin soup. The cruelty by which these fins are obtained is unthinkable. After the fins are sliced off, the shark -- often still alive -- is thrown back into the ocean to die slowly.

But there's good news -- a bill has been introduced that would end New York's participation in this inhumane and ecologically devastating trade.

Please make a brief, polite call to your state senator (click here to find your senator's information) and assemblymember (click here to find your assemblymember's information) and urge support for S.6431/A.7707a. Remember to send an important follow-up message.

Thank you for all you do for animals.
