Richmond, VA: Help End Fox Pens - March 20, 2013
Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries

We urgently need your help to shut down Virginia's last legal blood sport! Fox pens are fenced enclosures where dogs are released in competitions to chase down captive foxes. In this twisted "game," fenced foxes are maimed and killed by packs of dogs judged on their ability to pursue the animals.

While legislation to end this practice was halted in the General Assembly, the Board of the Virginia Dept. of Game and Inland Fisheries has full authority to stop this practice through regulations. At the March 20 meeting, the Board will consider increased regulations on fox pens. Fox pen participants will be there to defend their brutal activity. It’s vital that animal advocates show the Board that the majority of Virginians oppose this inhumane practice.

Will you please attend this meeting with me? Together, we can end this horrific abuse of Virginia's wildlife. Contact Laura Donahue if you have additional questions.
